William Hill kicks off Flat season with Lincoln sponsorship

William Hill is the new title sponsor of the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster, the traditional opening to the British Flat season.

It’s the latest addition to William Hill’s portfolio of big race sponsorships, with the leading bookmaker already the Official Betting Partner of next month’s Grand National Meeting, sponsors of the Cheltenham October Meeting, the new Grade 1 Formby Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree on Boxing Day as well as the Grade 1 Punchestown Champion Chase.

William Hill will sponsor the whole seven-race card at Doncaster, with the Spring Mile, Brocklesby Stakes and Cammidge Trophy among the races now featuring the William Hill title.

Simon & Ed Crisford’s Awaal, second in last year’s contest, and Karl Burke’s Liberty Lane head the betting at 4/1, while last year’s winner, Migration, is 12/1. William Hill will be offering enhanced place terms on the race with the concession available on-course, in-shop, on app and online.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “The Lincoln is a race deep in history that always attracts a high-quality, competitive field, so we’re delighted to be sponsoring it again.

“The dust has only just settled on the Cheltenham Festival, but with the William Hill Lincoln kicking off the new British Flat season on Saturday, and the Grand National Festival, a meeting we are the Official Betting Partner of, only a few weeks away, it’s a very important and busy time for us.

“We’ll be celebrating our new sponsorship by offering enhanced place terms on the William Hill Lincoln, which hopefully offers customers plenty of value.”
