Casino Tropicana applies for Implosion permitsTropicana Land LLC has filed for demolition permits with a possibility of opening a new hotel and casino in Las Vegas, to replace the iconic Tropicana.

The exact date for the implosion is yet to be confirmed as the permit is yet to be approved with Clark County, however Mark Loizeaux, president of Controlled Demolition Inc, said it may happen “later this year.”

Since the Tropicana closed on April 2, construction crews have been preparing for the demolition of the two empty towers and the deadline for the implosion is January 7, 2025.

Bally’s Corp operated the casino and hotel before its closure and will be working together with Gaming and Leisure properties to gage the next steps. But, as the future holds multiple possibilities, other companies could take over the project.
