On July 13, Australia’s Thunder From Down Under celebrated 20 years of performances at Excalibur Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.
The festivities included Adam Steck, CEO of SPI Entertainment and co-owner of the show, receiving a proclamation from the Clark County Commission, declaring July 5 – 13 as “Thunder From Down Under Week.” MGM Resorts vice president of entertainment, Laura Ishum congratulated Steck and the cast on the tremendous milestone with a large, decorated cake.
Steck, who received the proclamation with business partner and group founder Bill Cross, said: “We have enjoyed our residency at the iconic Excalibur for 20 years as well as having the distinction of being the longest-running male revue on the Las Vegas Strip. Having this proclamation and last week’s Key to The Strip presentation is an incredible honour. We want to thank our wonderful MGM Resorts partners and, of course, the millions of fans who have supported us through the years and celebrated countless bachelorette parties, birthdays, graduations and yes, even divorces.”
Thunder From Down Under remains a favourite among celebrity guests, hosting stars such as Demi Moore, Kelly Clarkson, Paris Hilton, Heidi Klum, Chrissy Teigen, Gene Simmons of KISS and The Property Brothers.
Thunder debuted in Las Vegas in 1993 at the Stardust Hotel and had its first full residency at The New Frontier, prior to making Excalibur its home for the last 20 years.
