The first ever British Casino Awards reveals its winners!

Organised by Casino International publisher Datateam Business Media, in association with the National Casino Forum (NCF), the first ever British Casino Awards took place last night at the Hippodrome Casino London.

In the ‘Operator’ categories, Grosvenor Casinos picked up an incredible four awards; Multiple Casino Operator of the Year, Overall Casino Operator of the Year, Best UK Marketing Programme for Goliath Poker and Best UK Casino Customer Service for its customer service hub at Grosvenor, Sheffield.

The National Casino Forum Diversity Award, which highlights companies that demonstrate proactive attitudes towards gender diversity, was presented to Aspers Group/Aspers Westfield, which was also the recipient of the CHIPS Corporate Community Engagement award.

The Hippodrome Casino, London, also picked up two awards, taking home the Independent UK Casino Operator of the Year award and Best UK Casino Restaurant for the Heliot Steak House.

The winner of the European Casino Operator of the Year award was Admiral.

In the ‘Product’ awards, Ace King Suited Progressive (Grosvenor) was noted as the Best UK Table Gaming Product (including ETG) while the Best UK CMS/Software Product award went to Neon (Playtech/Intelligent Gaming).

The British Casino Awards not only recognise the operators and products that contribute to the success of the industry, but also the outstanding efforts of individuals from across the sector. Grosvenor Casinos added a seventh award to their hand, with Paul Baines picking up the Rising Star award, while the CHIPS Community Engagement Award was presented to Irene Nuqui of Genting UK.

The Awards presentation closed with the hotly-anticipated Lifetime Achievement Award. After an impressive 38 year career in the gaming industry, Richard Wade was the first ever recipient of the accolade.

As well as recognising and rewarding excellence, the event provided a platform to raise awareness and funds for CHIPS, a unique charity formed by the gaming industry designed to raise funds to purchase specialised powered wheelchairs for disabled youngsters. The charity collection saw an astounding sum raised, with donations totalling over £9,000.

The British Casino Awards were sponsored by Everi, Evolution Gaming, Interblock, Playtech and TCSJOHNHUXLEY.
