- Ahead of National Bingo Day, a Gambling.com study has crowned Montana as the most “Bingo-Mad” state in the U.S.,, based on casinos per capita.
- And looking across the Treasure State, Hamilton is Montana’s “Best Place For Bingo,” after it topped our list with 1.78 bingo halls per 1,000 residents.
- The western town of Miles City comes in a close second place with a score of 1.18 bingo halls per 1,000 residents.
- Rounding out the podium places is Columbia Falls. The picturesque city has only five bingo halls, but with a small population of just 5,943, it scored 0.84 bingo halls per 1,000 residents.
- The places from fourth to tenth in our Montana bingo ranking are separated by just 0.13. Laurel (No. 4) scored 0.70 bingo halls per 1,000 residents, and Lewistown completes the Top 5 with a score of 0.64.
- Billings has the most bingo halls overall with 45, which is ahead of Great Falls (36) and Missoula (25), which comes next. However, when per capita calculations come into play, all three slide down the ranking.
Recently, a Gambling.com study crowned Montana the most bingo-mad U.S. state/best U.S. state for bingo.
Aptly nicknamed “The Treasure State,” Montana has 324 bingo hall locations compared to a population of just over 1.1 million people, resulting in it topping our per capita ranking.
And as Montana is officially the most bingo-mad state, Gambling.com wanted to find out “Montana’s Best Place For Bingo.”
Montana has a diverse range of cities stretching across its vast plains and mountain ranges. And the majority of the larger towns and cities in Montana are a hotbed for bingo enthusiasts, featuring an array of bingo halls.

Bingo Central: Hamilton, Montana Tops the List
Located in the Ravalli County, Hamilton has a small population of 5,630. The small city provides a central trade area for hundreds of small farms, ranches and orchards that fill the valley. According to our research, the city is home to 10 bingo halls that provide residents with an enjoyable pastime.
Due to its small population and high number of bingo halls, Hamilton has been crowned “Montana’s Best Place For Bingo,” with 1.78 bingo halls per 1,000 residents. And with the Treasure State topping the nation when it comes to bingo halls per capita, it’s fair to say Hamilton is the “bingo capital” of the USA.
Hamilton could be considered a hidden gem for U.S. bingo enthusiasts looking for unique bingo experiences outside of a large city.
The western town of Miles City comes in a close second, with a score of 1.18 bingo halls per 1,000 residents. Located in Montana’s Custer County, Miles City is known for its world-class hunting, fishing, sightseeing, authentic western locations and of course, bingo halls.
Rounding out the podium places is Columbia Falls, the city along the Flathead River has been ranked as one of the safest and best places to live in Montana. The picturesque city has only five bingo halls, but with a small population of just 5,943, it worked out at 0.84 bingo halls per 1,000 residents.
Montana Bingo Hall Battle
Fourth to tenth in our “Montana’s Best Place For Bingo” ranking are separated by just 0.13. The city of Laurel (No. 4) scored 0.70 bingo halls per 1,000 residents and Lewistown completes the Top 5 with a score of 0.64.
The rest of our Top 10 features Anaconda-Deer Lodge County (No. 6 – 0.61), Great Falls (No. 7 – 0.60), Bigfork (No. 8 – 0.59), Butte-Silver Bow (No. 9 – 0.58), and in 10th is Kalispell with a score of 0.57.
The city of Great Falls has the most bingo halls in the top 10 with 36, but with a large population of over 60,000, it missed out on the per capita Top 5. The city has a bustling downtown that features museums, parks, eateries and entertainment venues like bingo halls.
Bingo Bust: Billings & Missoula Don’t Make the Cut
Billings and Missoula are the two most populated cities in Montana with 123,290 and 79,996 residents respectively. So, there is no surprise that both cities are in the Top 3 for most bingo halls in the state.
Billings has the most bingo halls with 45. As the most populated city in the state, it leads the way far ahead of Great Falls (36) and Missoula (25). Although Billings has the most bingo halls in our list overall, when population is taken into account in our calculations, it only ranks 17th, with 0.36 bingo halls per 1,000 residents.
Missoula follows the similar trend to Billings. The city, known for its natural beauty and university, sits one place behind Billings in 18th place with a score of just 0.31 bingo halls per 1,000 residents.
