Development opportunity in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has recently announced an RFQ for master developers to develop Roosevelt Roads, a land offering in Puerto Rico; the land can be for mixed use and would be an ideal locale for gambling entertainment. The Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC) and the Roosevelt Roads Local Redevelopment Authority is seeking developers qualified to immediately take on a project with unlimited possibilities – to develop 3,000 waterfront acres on the east coast of Puerto Rico. The site was formerly a U.S. Navy base and the redevelopment authority would like to take advantage of the land for sustainable entertainment areas such as casinos, not to mention eco-tourism lodges, an industrial park, town centres, residential housing, and corporate offices ideal for hotel properties, marinas, educational institutions and other mixed use development.

While the RFQ is time-sensitive, developers can get answers immediately, and can get a tour of the land on July 17. The full press release is attached and the RFQ is available at www.rooseveltroads.pr.gov, Section RFQ. Important dates are:

Wednesday, July 16: Bidder Registration Forms are due.

Thursday, July 17: The LRA will hold an optional pre-submittal meeting and property tour.

Thursday, August 7: The Statement of Qualifications deadline for respondents is due.
