As Ontario’s regulated iGaming market continues to mature, CasinoCanada.com spoke exclusively with Giorgi Tsutskiridze, Chief Commercial Officer at SPRIBE, about why the province’s casino-first player behaviour could create new opportunities for crash games and what makes Ontario different from other emerging regulated markets.

Ontario has become one of North America’s most established online gambling markets, with casino products accounting for the majority of player activity. Tsutskiridze believes the province’s combination of strong regulation, high channelisation and mobile-first engagement creates favourable conditions for innovative casino formats.

“Ontario is a market where online casino has clearly become the main attraction. The numbers show that players are engaging heavily with casino products, which creates opportunities for formats that deliver fast, simple and interactive experiences.”

The interview explores how Ontario’s development differs from the US market, where sports betting initially drove much of the regulated expansion, and why casino suppliers need to understand local player behaviour rather than simply replicate strategies from other jurisdictions.

Tsutskiridze also discusses the role of crash games in the evolving online casino ecosystem. He explains that the format’s simplicity, speed and social features make it well suited to modern players, particularly those who prefer mobile experiences and games that can be understood instantly.

“Crash games bring together several things that today’s players are looking for: quick rounds, easy-to-understand mechanics and a more interactive experience. They offer something different while still fitting naturally within the casino category.”

With Ontario now moving beyond its initial growth phase, Tsutskiridze says the next challenge for operators and suppliers will be maintaining player engagement through diverse and compelling content.

“The future of regulated markets is not only about attracting players, but also about giving them reasons to return. Formats that are mobile-friendly, engaging and easy to pick up will continue to have an important role.”
